Change of President

Message from Mark Downey

Following our recent AGM the IHBC has decided to restructure the board of directors and Harry Harron has been elected by the board to assume the Presidency of the Association.
I will continue to support Harry from the Vice Presidents position and believe this to be a positive transition for the IHBC.
Harry previously served on the board for two years and it is a pleasure to welcome him back. His energy and enthusiasm will no doubt help us develop going forward.
In my three years as President it has been a pleasure to represent the Irish Hungarian Business Circle and I intend to stay actively involved while supporting Harry going forward.
We have a number of new initiatives which we want to implement going forward and we hope to continue to rely on your support and contributions going forward.
We encourage anyone from our membership based to take advantage of our guest seat option at board meetings in order to submit ideas or comments on the activity of the IHBC. I hope you will all support Harry in his term representing the IHBC.
Kind regards / Üdvözlettel
Mark Downey

Message from Harry Harron

I am very pleased to be taking over from Mark as the President of the IHBC and I am committed to continue the good work that has been achieved to date and to working closely with the other board members.
Over the summer the board will meet to identify our priorities, new opportunities and possible roles for the IHBC and its members. We will produce a clear set of objectives in September 2010 that will form a frame work going forward. I am enthusiastic about the energy and commitment I see amongst board members and I feel confident we will achieve what we set out to do.
We met this week with the new Ambassador to Ireland, Mr John Deady and we aim to have regular updates with the Embassy and Enterprise Ireland. As well as focusing on business we believe it is good and right to focus on the Irish community here in Hungary. From good, strong community networks good business relationships and initiatives will emerge.
I look forward to serving the IHBC over the next 2 years and I hope to see many of you at our events, the next one being the “Day at the Races on the 4th July. We will be having more regular and free or inexpensive networking events after the summer months and as Mark as said we are always open to new ideas from the members.
All the best/Üdvözlettel
Harry
