Music and Poetry – 22nd February, Treehugger Dan’s

Neil McCarthy is an Irish poet based in Vienna. This February 22nd, Neil and acclaimed Irish singer/songwriter Ultan Conlon will be performing a show of music and poetry in Treehugger Dan’s Bookstore/Cafe on Lazar ut.16 (behind the Opera House) at 7.30pm.

Ultan is from Galway and just been included on a John Martyn Tribute album alongside the likes of Coldplay, Paulo Nutini, The Swell Season, Beck and The Cure to name a few. His debut album was described by Hotpress/The Evening Heralad as being “the most impressive Irish debut since Damien Rice’s O’”. www.ultanconlon.com

Neil has been performing poetry on an international circuit for many years now and has recently recorded interviews for several US radio shows. He has performed in the Prague Fringe Festival three times, as well as attended numerous literary festivals around the world as a guest. Neil and Ultan have done quite a few shows in the past in Treehugger Dan’s, who can easily accommodate up to 70 people, and some of them have been in conjunction with Culture Ireland.
